Steven Bradbury OAM is Australia's first Winter Olympic gold medallist and one of the country's most recognisable and enduring names in sport and speaking. At the 2002 Salt Lake City Games, Bradbury won the 1000m short track speed skating final after every other skater crashed in the closing stretch — a moment now shorthand across Australia for a come-from-behind, against-the-odds win (“doing a Bradbury”). The victory capped a career built on persistence rather than luck: four Olympic Games, Australia's first ever Winter Olympic medal (bronze, Lillehammer 1994), and the 2002 Don Award for the country's best sporting performance. Since retiring from competition, Bradbury has built a second career as a professional speaker and entertainer, presenting at more than 1,350 conferences and events across 21 countries for brands including IBM, ANZ, BHP, Toyota and Flight Centre. His keynotes on resilience, persistence and teamwork are matched by genuine stage craft — he works equally well as MC, after-dinner speaker, stand-up comedian and safety/OHS presenter, tailoring every appearance to the client's brief. Despite his profile, he carries zero celebrity baggage, a trait clients consistently call out as much as the story itself. A Member of the Order of Australia (OAM) for services to sport, Bradbury is a Director of the Olympic Winter Institute of Australia, has been a Winter Olympics broadcaster for Australian television (2006, 2010, 2014), and appeared as a celebrity contestant on Australian Survivor in 2019.
