EX NRL STAR | BROADCASTER | FAMILY MAN | BREATHWORK FACILITATOR | MEN’S MENTOR | SPEAKER
Born in Sydney in 1972, Ryan Girdler rose to become one of rugby league’s most prolific and lethal point-scorers, renowned for his precision goal-kicking and attacking flair.
After debuting with the Illawarra Steelers, Ryan entered a golden era with the Penrith Panthers, where he played 204 games and amassed an extraordinary 1,572 points — including 101 tries and 581 goals — cementing his status as one of the club’s greatest ever scorers. His representative career saw him proudly wear the sky blue of New South Wales and the green and gold for Australia. A defining highlight came during the 2000 State of Origin series, where he scored a record 52 points across the series, including 32 in a single match — one of the most dominant performances in Origin history. He capped his club career with a starring role in Penrith’s 2003 NRL Grand Final victory.
Retiring in his early 30s after 15 years at the top of his sport, Ryan faced the universal question of elite athletes: what’s next? While broadcasting and business provided success and visibility, it was a personal turning point — sparked by a meditation retreat — that reshaped his path. Ancient practices including meditation, breathwork and conscious movement became the foundation for profound inner transformation.
Through consistent practice, Ryan cultivated clarity, resilience and grounded perspective — tools that strengthened his wellbeing, relationships and sense of purpose. Today, he integrates lessons from elite sport with ancient wisdom for modern life.
As a breathwork facilitator, men’s mentor and speaker, Ryan works with individuals and groups navigating transition — from high performers seeking balance to men searching for clarity and direction. His sessions blend lived experience, vulnerability and practical tools, guiding others from restlessness to grounded purpose.
“Studying these practices has transformed my life in immeasurable ways. Now, I help other men do the same.”
