Matt Nable is an Australian actor, writer, director and novelist whose career spans film, television and literature. A former Manly rugby league player, he broke through in 2007 writing and starring in The Final Winter, Paramount Pictures’ first Australian acquisition, and went on to roles in Killer Elite with Jason Statham, Clive Owen and Robert De Niro, Riddick, Hacksaw Ridge, The Dry and Son of a Gun. He wrote and starred in 1%, which premiered at TIFF and was acquired by A24, earning him an AACTA nomination for Best Original Screenplay.

Matt made his directing debut with the crime thriller Transfusion, and his television work includes Arrow, Mr Inbetween, Last King of the Cross and NCIS: Sydney, earning four AACTA nominations in total. In 2026 he appears in the films Beast, Thrash and Wolfram. Also a bestselling author, his fourth novel, Still, reached number one on the Australian bestseller list.
