Former NRL player turned wine connoisseur, Daniel Mortimer’s story is truly unique. Growing up on his family’s winery in Orange, NSW, he later shifted his focus to professional Rugby League. Over a 10-year NRL career, Daniel played 150 games—primarily with the Parramatta Eels and Sydney Roosters—appearing in two NRL Grand Finals and winning a Premiership in 2013.
Following his retirement from the NRL, Daniel returned to his country roots and successfully transitioned back into the family business. Today, he leads Mortimers Wines as General Manager and part-owner. Daniel’s ability to communicate authentically from both the sporting arena and the wine industry makes him relatable, while his experience overcoming challenges with sheer determination and unrivalled optimism ensures your guests leave feeling genuinely inspired.
